I developed these spelling cards for my daughters, particularly so they can spell words with those pesky letters: p,q,b,d... On those letters, I added a small illustration reminding them of a word that begins with that letter. That way if they have to spell "door" they know that "dice and "door" begin with the same sound therefore, that letter is correct to use. For P, B, & D, I used words that have the same beginning sound in both English and Spanish (baby/bebé, dice/dado, pizza/pizza).
Q, unfortunately, is a tough one, so I just used queen, as there seems to be no word that starts with Q that means the same thing in Spanish as it does in English.
So next time your child has to spell 'bake' and instead spells 'dake', ask, "What picture does the 'D' show? 'Dice' begins with what sound?"
Also included are the lines going across, to help kids align the letter correctly. It reminds them that lowercase Q dips into the "basement" and that B "touches the ceiling". Those little arrows on the bottom help to identify which direction the letters go.
These have been helpful to my daughters and I hope they help someone else.

Note: For these to last longer, I printed them on card-stock and then laminated myself with clear contact paper.
